If I were a track rat, I'd be scrutinizing my bank statement.
The summer riding season has arrived. Indeed, I can still spot snow through my kitchen window, yet the trees are blossoming, birds are chirping, and racetracks across the nation are preparing to welcome various types of daredevil riders on two wheels. By the time temperatures climb high enough for you not to freeze during fast descents along their main stretches, these tracks will be primed for helping you set new personal records.
The equipment you used last season is probably showing signs of wear and tear.
It could be because you fell and bruised them, they failed to meet the latest safety standards, or maybe moths have damaged them over the winter. Those dirty old leather pants won’t cut it when you’re zooming along at 150 mph. Willow Springs Fortunately for you, Dainese has recently launched three new items designed for those who adore racing tracks, perfect for testing them out before taking to the streets.
The tires rolling over the pavement, not you. Well...

Dainese’s latest Racing Collection comprises three items: a complete one-piece racing suit, innovative track-focused gloves, and an edgy helmet from their affiliated company AGV, designed to protect your head should anything go wrong. With these components combined, you’re merely missing a pair of boots before being ready to conquer your favorite race course with confidence.
At the top of the list is Dainese's revised Laguna Seca 6 1-piece racing suit. The manufacturer claims it’s crafted from the amusingly titled Tutu cowhide. However, this 1.2mm-thick Tutu cowhide actually includes perforations designed to enhance air circulation, ensuring exceptional strength and durability during a crash.
The Laguna Seca 6 model boasts EN 17092 AAA certified safety standards from the manufacturer, incorporating Level 2 composite guards at the shoulders, elbows, and knees, along with the company’s Pro-Shape 2.0 Level 1 protection around the hip area. Additionally, this jacket includes exchangeable aluminum pieces for the shoulders, steel components for the elbows, as well as Dainese's adjustable RSS 4.0 Elbow Sliders. It also offers replaceable RSS 4.0 Knee Sliders designed for swift swaps “without needing adjustments to their placement.”
The entire setup is designed to be compatible with the brand's Boot-In system using their Axial 2 boots. Additionally, this will cost you around $1,700, which frankly seems quite reasonable considering the amount of safety provided.

Dainese offers their Fiero Metal Gloves crafted from extremely tough goatskin. Designed alongside the aforementioned suit, these gloves promise exceptional performance and durability against wear and tear, enabling you to push yourself when racing at high speeds. While detailed insights about them aren’t as extensive as those provided for the suit, they serve an essential purpose: ensuring safety and style during intense rides. Priced at $370, these gloves come at a premium cost yet deliver unmatched protection and sleek appearance suitable for speed enthusiasts.
And furthermore, there's the helmet.

Currently, I have quite a passion for helmets. At my workplace, I’ve displayed the majority of my helmet collection behind my desk. My assortment includes models from various manufacturers, such as an AGV. The newest addition to my collection, though, is an upgraded version of their model. Pista GP RR , which is essentially a direct replica—pun intended—of the helmet used by riders in MotoGP. It not only surpasses ECE22.06 safety regulations but also complies with the updated FIM homologation standards, so you could theoretically use this for competitive racing if you desired.
The helmet offers exceptional adjustability thanks to the brand’s 360° Adaptive Fit system, which lets riders customize it according to their head shapes. Included accessories include a hydration kit, a smoked shield, vent covers, and a tear-off kit. Additionally, the rear spoiler designed for improved aerodynamics can be removed should you prefer just some minimal downforce around your neck area. However, as this is a top-tier racing helmet, expect to pay accordingly; the 2025 AGV Pista GP RR comes with a hefty price tag of $1,650. Despite the cost, rest assured that it provides excellent protection suitable even for high-speed crashes at speeds up to 160 mph.
I would personally enjoy having one, but I don’t have that sort of money, and I’m not really into racing. What about you all? Are you prepared to treat yourselves to some new Dainese and AGV equipment?
